R7000 AC1900 internet keeps dropping

We have the Nitehawk AC1900. We bought it a year ago, and disconnected it immediately cause it was dropping a lot but recently decided to reconnect it as advised by our internet provider as it was better than what we were using. Which is true but it keep dropping service. Is it common for the internet to drop often and have to reboot on the app every day if not multiple times a day?

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

  • We have the same issue. Have had the router about 14 months and it keeps dropping every night. I have to reboot. Anyone find a solution to this?

Do you have the C7000 cable modem?

  • It seems several versions of the firmware for this router have that issue.   Try updating to the latest version 1.0.11.128 or the oldest known stable version .42 .   I currently use .128, which does have the reboot issue, but usually only once every day or two with the network coming back in about 5 minutes or via a quick reboot.

,42 is old but fairly stable as far as that goes.

No idea why netgear can't figure out the stability issues, but it has been a problem with this router for a few years now.
