Re: R7000 New Firmware 1.0.6.28 released
Hello Ankydu,
What I would do is flush your dns (ipconfig /flushdns), then launch FF, clear the cache of FF, remove all the cookies, and restart FF safe mode.
Let's see what's happening then.

Are you using an antivirus program? If it's not too much, can you uninstall it totally?

1.0.3

Re: R7000 New Firmware 1.0.6.28 released
Here is the fix to all or our problems. I tested this last night.
Go here:
http://www.linksysinfo.org/index.php?threads/asuswrt-merlin-on-netgear-r7000.71108/
Sign up for account.
Download latest version.
The recommended procedure:
1. Reset your router to factory defaults via (Push reset button for 8 seconds on the R7000) Log into 192168.1.1 follow default steps.
2. Flash the R7000_xxx.xx_x.chk file via the web interface.
3. Do another factory reset via the new web interface.
4. Configure everything else.
I did this last noght it is a very stable and really cool Firmware. My wireless range and speeds increased as well. This firmware was built for the R7000

It has even bandwith extender.. That means the signal output gets stronger with a slider. Default is 50%. I set it up to 100%

Re: R7000 New Firmware 1.0.6.28 released
In fact, your network configuration looks fine under windows with ipconfig /all
If you really did all what you said, and mainly hard reset + connect only one cable between PC and Router, maybe something else corrupted in router or windows. Again, on first hard reset with this 1.06, I had to connect to the WAN from my PC. There was no way to connect using the LAN. After that, using the LAN worked. Why? I have no clue. Just try it as a last chance
If a fresh install of windows is able to connect to the router, then it is an issue with your current windows install, else it is something fishy in router. Provided hardware interface (adapter and cable) is fine!
For windows, many things can affect it. Did you try to look if 192.168.1.(0-255) range is redirected in hosts file ? (%SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts)
If you excluded a windows issue by a fresh install, let's say, it is sad that no Netgear dev ever replies for support here. Their NAS forum is extremely well supported by Team devs. Here, users are left alone it seems

Re: R7000 New Firmware 1.0.6.28 released
I also had the issue of no devices being able to connect to my 2.4GHz after this update. Rolling back to the previous firmware did not resolve the issue, but rolling back to Version 1.0.4.28 resolved the issue.

Re: R7000 New Firmware 1.0.6.28 released
I am done with this buggy, worst than alpha firmware. Firstly if not being able to open my router page wasnt enough now all my android phones and tablet refuse to detect my HP AIO printer on this firmware, only my windows devices with netgear software are able to detect it. With great disappointment from netgear, I am reverting back to 1.0.4.30 where atlest the things I need work if not everything.

Re: R7000 New Firmware 1.0.6.28 released
Can we ever get ICMPv6 issue resolved on R7000.
I still can not enable IPv6 on the router because if i do, the dns and host lookups take forever and pages load very slow and timeout at times.

Probably doesn't matter but I turned off Arlo right after the update.
Just to be clear, I had problems connecting to 2.4Ghz after applying the firmware update. Once I did a factory reset, I could connect both bands. I have not seen any changes in signal strength between 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz since the update. In fact, my 2.4 is now about 4-6 db stronger in my basement. It was stronger before but I don't know by how much.
I am staing with 1.0.6.28 for now.
Thanks for the tip, jflorance! Factory reset did it for me. 1.0.6.28 still in place and no apparent problems remain.
Greetings!

Re: R7000 New Firmware 1.0.6.28 released
I had a similar issue as well on my desktop with Kaspersky. I had to uninstall it completely in order to be able to connect to my router. Pain in the butt, I tell ya. I'm on 1.0.4.30 as well but going to try the latest and do the factory reset. Let's see where it takes me.

Re: R7000 New Firmware 1.0.6.28 released
But, I located the culprit to be KIS and it can easily be corrected. Do the following on all your machines and your networks will function fine.
1) Right click on the red K on the lower right of your screen
2) Left click settings
3) Left click Protection
4) Left click Firewall
5)Left click Networks
6) Find the adapters for your wired & wireless ports and change them to "Local Network"
7) Close the networks page
😎 Left click Configure Packet Rules
9) Find "Any network activity (Local network)"
10) Right click on it and select edit
11) Check the "inactive" box
12) Left click close
Exit all pages and reboot the machine. You're good to go! (from kaspersky support pages)

Re: R7000 New Firmware 1.0.6.28 released
That was from Kapsersky, so other than that I have no idea. It seems more related to Windows/Kaspersky, as I use a Mac and have no issues.
