R7000 keeps dropping wifi connection

Gleazon yeah just curious what verison you're on. I spent a TON of time online researching the issue and everyone suggested 1.0.9.42 but I had the same WIFI Drop outs on this firmware. I thought it might just be my router but my sisters R7000 was having the EXACT same issue. I also flashed 1.0.9.42 on hers (same issue on hers). I factory reset everything, set everything up on both routers manually, issue still persisted. So as a last ditch effort before her replacing her router or replacing my own I flashed Fresh Tomato firmware. The only firmware that hasn't had this issue so far for me is 3rd party open source Fresh Tomato firmware. I've been up and stable for 5 days.

Ya I have to say I am disappointed in netgear for their lack of response or care at multiple issues with their AC1900 series firmware or hardware. The fix of replacing the proprietary firmware appears legit but it should be on the company to test their own software and end-users "hacking" their own hardware shouldn't be necessary.
Gneisguy13 agreed 100% just glad I know what I'm doing and have that option otherwise I would have already had to purchase a new router! 5 days up and stable on Fresh tomato latest 2020.5 firmware at this point. I'll eventually replace it as it's about 3 years old at least. But I want to hold off at I really don't have the extra funds to shell out $200-400 for a good router right now. Can't go cheap because I have about 20 devices total that use the WiFi on the router. Not always at the same time. Use it for working from home, gaming, streaming music, streaming live TV from my jailbroken firesticks, etc.... So I need something with some beef to it!
