Good write up on debricking a router using a MAC. Have used it. Follow instructions and should work. This will work with most Netgear routers.

Absofrikkinlutely :) :)
binary command was all I needed.
It's all back up and my configuration is still intact. Wow!!
Guess that factory reset didn't do squat while it was bricked.
Thank You!
Thank You!

Let me add a note in case someone else comes along.
Don't bother with the TFTP software for OSX. It didn't work. Use the Terminal.
If you place the firmware file in the root directory "username/firmware_v1.2.3.4.chk" (example),
then you won't need to do anything but enter the "put" command. It will find it.
And in hindsight, I probably had v1.4.1.24, or that's the last one I remember, as there was a version between these, v1.4.1.30- labattMar 15, 2020Mentor
Glad you got things working again. Hard to find good info on recovery when using a MAC. I have both, and challange myself to try with the MAC as I know somethings would be so much simpler with Windows, but not everyone has a Windows PC available. Want the knowledge to help others.

That knowledge definitely helped this case!
I think I would have had success with the Linux laptop. All I needed was that "binary" command and it probably would have worked.
Basically the same as using terminal on OSX.
The TFTP for OSX software is shareware, and the version on the website is only for older versions of OSX.
What's on the App store is for purchase. $2 I think it was. Have to purchase to get the advanced options. Don't know if that would have helped.
And I do have a firmware upgrade available. I'm hesitant at this point. It wasn't available to download manually yesterday.
I've never had any problems downloading via the router interface in the past. That was the first time.New firmware is found. Do you want to update the firmware?
