just updated to new firmware ending in 82 and its seems like still same issue with DNS lots of websites coming back server not found ???????????????? same as firmware ending in 80 not sure what to do ? thinking about rolling back again ?

just installed new version ending in 82 worse then firmware ending in 80 from July , lots of websites coming back sever not found so now rolled back again to version ending in 75 and all is well again , so I guess the problem is not fixed in new version out today ending in 82 , very upsetting.

Spent a half hour on …82. I see no improvement. I’m back to …75. I would fire my development team if they put into production a product with obvious bugs that can be found in minutes.

Thanks. I just got around to udating that R8000 firmware and then after that I started having that annoying problem. I kept having to refresh the page to get it to load. I appled the temporary fix and so far so good. I had been pulling my hair out over this so I'm glad I found a fix.

current firmware ending in 80 or 82 has the same exact problems, tried both of these updates both caused numerous server not found issues, now rolled back firmware to 75 and issues have stopped again this has been going on since July 29th with no fixes ???????????, I guess it's time for a new router.

Try a full on factory reset on the router and setup from scratch before rolling back FW.

Ok, tried what you said did a factory reset started everything over which was a lot with 11 security cameras and just finished and still same problems lots of websites saying server not found will not connect on lots of websites , now have to roll back to version 75 and remove version 82, and 80 is also the same issue going back to 75 everything works fine , two hours of wasted time.

Netgear did not update the 8300 FW.  Netgear Engineering had stated that they had a fix for the DNS issue on the 8500/8300.  I expect to them to call me to test it tomorrow.

There is no need to do any resets for the DNS issue.  Total waste of time.   If i had to do a reset and setup from scratch  everytime I updated firmware,  i would smash the NETGEAR with a hammer.

For the most part, you don't need to factory reset after each firmware update. 

Its just recommended if you're having issues after an update.

Sometimes settings can change and clearing out the old ones can fix issues.

well I tried factory reset after using recent firmware ending in 80 and 82 and neither time it corrected the problems, so for now I have rolled back to version ending in 75 and all issues were resolved, at this point I am not sure of any new updates coming out soon will correct all these issues it seems the last two updates have the exact same problems.

I have tested a FW fix for the R8300 that does fix the DNS problem.  in the past, i have been able to recreate the issue in seconds. I have tested this for 30 minutes with no problems.   I have download the FW and made no other changes to my network.  Hopefully, this makes it to releasable FW soon.

OK, guess anyone with night hawk router ac3200 r8000 is stuck with old version prior to version ending in 80 which came out end of July 2021, versions ending in 80 or 82 that are most current versions both have DNS issues lots of websites coming back server not found ???????????? , thanks.

Yes The FW fix is for the 8300.  I have been running the fix for 6 days with no issues.  I was expecting it to be released to all by now but it has not.  hopefully soon.

won't help me mine is R8000 not 8300 so I guess the DNS issues that are in firmware ending in 80 or 82 will not be fixed for a very long time , time for a new router.

this is the same thing I just posted another topic which I'll delete but going back and forth with my wife at home having the issues.

1) Appreciate you all discussing this after that latest firmware in the subject line last month. 

- sidenote and opinion... I understand things are always peaches and cream but Netgear failed briefly by taking this long and still not fixing it because....

2) .... we just downloaded the next firmware upgrade and same issue of "page not found" and then it loads up. It's not that big of a deal to me but my wife is working with Quickbooks at home for her job and it's ****'ing up something.

She has done the current client fix with the Chrome browser and Firefox but doesn't know how to mess with the router so I'll do that when I get home.

I have been trying to get this fixed this end of July 2021, the best firmware is ending in 75 , 80 or 82 has same problem server not found, if you don't want to roll back to 75 then you can change DNS server for google server which will stop issue but not a fix just a work around see picture good luck, factory reset and all other options have been tried nothing works.

does anyone know if this problem with last two firmware update ending in 80 and 82 has anything to do with certificate expiring on 9/30/2021 yesterday which causes numerous older devices not to connect to internet properly ? it was all over internet yesterday and it was said no fix for renewing certificate last time this happened was around 1980, they said lots of problems for devices older then 2017 ?

Monkeywrench I'm still waiting on a fix as well. Unfornately I'm still in wind as well. No Updates so far.
