R8000P firmware update issue
I believe the router is compromised since it has been uploading 100GB data every day for past several days.
I was trying to upgrade firmware V1.4.1.50_1.3.10 to the latest one. But there seems no way to fix it by using all the methods i can find from this forum. I have spent hours but failed to upgrade it. Any update on this issue?

Re: R8000P firmware update issue
I'd start by changing your ssid/password.
Then slowly add devices back in.
You might be surprised at whats using data

Re: R8000P firmware update issue
I did everything you said. Still firmware wont update and DOS attack is happening. This is well know issue as discussed already on the forum. The only solution is replacement.

I sent you the mod's info on checking on the firmware.
But the removing device fix the data usage?

It is exactly the same issue. A lot of ppl can't update firmware.---I understand this. This is also the public support forum where members of the public help out. We're not netgear. We're not support. We can't fix it. You need to either contact support or potentially a mod (they haven't been as active lately) for help with that. That's why I sent you the mod's info who potentially can help. You can try contacting support. To get a hold of support. Click on "MyNetgear" at the top.
Register an account (or login) and then the device.
From there you can start the support process.
