Don't upgrade to the latest firmware version 1.0.2.116 for R8500. I have 2 external HDD connected for network storage and when i upgraded to 1.0.2.116, the router didn't recognise i had anything plugged in so i couldn't see any network storage!! I then downgraded to the previous version and my storage came back online.

Hi Martycp,
Upgrade the firmware and then reset the router. Configure it manually after the reset.

Re: R8500 Firmware Version 1.0.2.116
I have bought new R8500 and at once was updated to this FW.
I have a problem with USB 3.0. If not to take out USB 3.0 from USB 3 port that after reset a router doesn't see USB 3.0. I solve a problem so: before reset of a router I take out USB 3.0 from USB 3 port and after hard reset of a router I insert and only then the router sees the USB stick again. Why NETGEAR won't solve this problem in any way?
