I got a replacement from Netgear. I paid the additional £20 for next day replacement ....3 days later I received it!!!!
Anyhow. Installed and started working fine then same thing happened. I replaced the power adapter with the new one and everything is looking good.
Just got to get my £20 back from Netgear now.
Thanks for your help

Re: R8500
Be sure you are using the correct power adapter 19VDC @3 amps...use MyNetgear to get it replaced.

Re: R8500
You're welcome!
Consider yourself Lucky that using old power adapter didn't hose up the replacement. Not a good idea to switch power adapters without knowing the status of it.
