Hello,
Out of the blue I was getting poor video quality/slow speeds and periodic internet disconnects on my R9000. I suspected it was my crummy satellite internet but I finally decided to do a factory reset on the R9000. When it came back up I could not connect to the internet at all. A second reset solved that problem but now the QOS will not start. It will run the speed test but will not start - I just get the dreaded "QOS failed to start, please try again" message. It acts just like it did a year or so ago. Not sure if it was the case, but I heard the issue at that time was an expired license with the QOS provider (?). Anyway, I rarely check the QOS status and assume it is always running - so there could have been a QOS problem before the reset that I did not notice. Now I wonder if it fact it had failed, because running QOS really improves my system (it it was a main reason I got the R9000 in the first place).
Has anyone else recently experienced problems with a start/restart of QOS from the GUI? I love Netgears hardware but between the QOS start-up and Plex update failures, dealing with their firmware can be so darn frustrating.... thanks for any help!

Long time no see 🙂
Have not not experienced loss of QoS or the like since last time, 1.0.5.26 and .28 (just released these hours) allows to stop and start QoS as expected.
Spotted some minor oddities, but have not taken any notes. The only one that hits my eyes is that the "R9000" product name is no longer visible under the NETGEAR logo (current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, ...):

Re: R9000 QOS won't start - yet again
Hello schumaku ,
Thank you for replying and for including the pictures. Yes its been a long time since I have been on this forum....I hope is well with you.
Based on the fact that your QOS is working I figured there must be something wrong with my router. I made a backup file and the size seemed off compared to what I normally see. So I thought the configuration may be corrupted. I did a complete reinsinstall of the firmware and settings... it works!
I will mark your reply as the solution as it seems there was a problem that the reinstall corrected.
Thanks again,
KM
