Hi all,
I have confirmed that in V1.0.4.84, when editing any attached device (under Administration) to change its priority, after clicking on Apply, the web interface freezes up and the router must be power cycled.
I downgraded to V1.0.4.82 and the issue doesn't happen in that version.
I upgraded again to V1.0.4.84 and the issue comes back.
Anyone else having this issue?

Ok so after enabling QoS,
I now see the Edit and same screen view on Attached Devices:
Selected Low priority and hit apply and got same hang on the browser:
Seems to crash the web page ui services. I still have internet access thru the router. I can ping the routers LAN IP address as well. Power cycling the router regains access to the routers web page.
I'll pass this on to NG.

Re: Router Nighthawk X6 R8000, firmware V1.0.4.84 -web interface freezes
Had you tried this in a different browser to see if the problem follows?
What browser are you using?
Had a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed after you loaded v.84?

Re: Router Nighthawk X6 R8000, firmware V1.0.4.84 -web interface freezes
Thank you for replying.
Yes I did a factory reset on v84 to see if that was the issue. That's when I installed v82.
When the web interface freezes up, I still have Internet (wired and wireless).
If I then use the Nighthawk Android app (after the web interface freezes up), it can't connect so I don't think is the browser otherwise I would expect the Android app to communicate with the router as usual.
On the PC I use Google Chrome.
Does that happens to you? If not then I can try with FireFox. Edge is based on Chrome now so I'm guessing will be the same issue.
That still doesn't explain why the Nighthawk Android app can't communicate but I guess it could be the browser for whatever reason cause the router to crash its web interface.
That said, I can edit any other router settings in the same browser and no freezes. It's only when editing the priority of the "Attached Devices".

I'll check with mine. I don't normally change priorities on this router.

Re: Router Nighthawk X6 R8000, firmware V1.0.4.84 -web interface freezes
Hi again,
Thank you for using your time on this.
We have the same router with same firmware version but yet different interface... not sure I understand the reason behind it...
You won't be able to test it out then... I'll download FireFox anyways and try but I doubt that will be it because in v82 I used exactly the same PC and browser to change the priority and worked no issues.
Thanks again.

Ya I don't see that layout on mine at all. Speed test shouldn't be appearing on that screen either. I use MS Edge.
What region are you located? USA here.
I picked up my R8000 from Amazon 2nd hand cheap. Looked like it had never been used.

Canada... can't see why that feature would be country specific though... weird...

Re: Router Nighthawk X6 R8000, firmware V1.0.4.84 -web interface freezes
Very. Seems like there is two different varients, not sure if it's FW or HW doing this.
I got my version of FW that I posted here in the forums. Not sure if you get your FW files from something regional.
I'll see if I can get some info from NG on this.

Re: Router Nighthawk X6 R8000, firmware V1.0.4.84 -web interface freezes
Maybe HW... normally I update the firmware through the update feature in the router but this time since I went back to v82 then back to v84, I got the latter from here: https://kb.netgear.com/000064738/R8000-Firmware-Version-1-0-4-84
Seems an address the US would get the firmware from as well.

Do you have Dynamic QoS enabled?

Re: Router Nighthawk X6 R8000, firmware V1.0.4.84 -web interface freezes
Good morning folks,
@FURRYe38 try enabling Dynamic QoS as @Kitsap suggested. Your "Attached Devices" page should then let you change the devices priority.
The QoS is under Setup:
To recap, the steps that lead to router web interface freezing are as follows:
- Go into the Advanced tab;
- Expand the Administration section;
- Click on "Attached Devices";
- A table of devices should appear on the right, click on a checkbox for a device you want to change its priority and click on Edit;
- On the "Edit Device" page, select the new priority; and
- Click Apply.
At that point, you will see the busy icon and the web interface will freeze and will not recover. Trying to access the router through the mobile Nighthawk app (Android in my case) will also fail (i.e. the app will state the router can't be found).
The only way to get it going again is by power cycling the router.
Let me know if you can reproduce it.
Thank you all.

Awesome, thank you for this. It is definitively a bug in the firmware then.
