Router Range Extender

Will the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi Cable Modem Router work with a WIFI range extender?  If so, what brand is recommended?

    well AC1900 is a speed, not a model. 

    But all of netgears extenders should work with any of the cable/modem routers from netgear.

    I'm a fan of the triband extenders as they don't take the 50% speed hit that standard extenders take.
