Slow Ethernet Speed on Nighthawk X6S R8000P (cable works ok, wifi works ok)

As the title says.

I just replaced my standard Verizion router with a new NetGear Nighthawk router.

With the Verizon router, ethernet speed was great. Now it's barely hitting 5.49 Mbps download when I try to do the speed test. I tried the ethernet cable with another computer and the speed works ok. So it seems like it's an issue with my computer specifically. I tried almost all of the solutions in the other threads but because those are a few years old, I wanted to revisit this.

Firmware version - V1.4.1.50_1.3.10

Things I have tried

- Reset of the Router

- Uninstalling NetWork adapters then reinstalling by searching for new hardware

- Most up to date drivers as per Windows

- Turning IPV6 on/off

- Turning QoS on/off (WMM is enabled right now)

Just a little confused because the ethernet speed worked great before and all I did was change the router so not sure where the issue is.

Thanks,

Model: R8000P|Nighthawk X6S AC4000 Tri Band WiFi Router

Re: Slow Ethernet Speed on Nighthawk X6S R8000P (cable works ok, wifi works ok)

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out.

I ended up finding the solution by disabling the xFast LAN program that was automatically downloaded with my Asrock Motherboard. That upped my speed by ~10x, so it's all fixed.

Just to answer your question, I am using Fios.

Take care.
