Trying to decide which router: Nighthawk AC1900 or Nighthawk AC2600

Hi,
I need a new router for my home. The Nighthawk line of routers was recommended to me. We will be having 3 TVs, multiple gaming systems and several iPhones and iPads connected.
I have done a little research on Nighthawk routers and currently there is about a $15 difference between Nighthawk AC1900 and Nighthawk AC2600.
Would I be correct in assuming that Nighthawk AC2600 would be the product to select since the price difference is very small?
Thanks so much for your help.

so including basement (where the router is) would make it roughly 3200sq ft?
I've got a home that size and my typical setup is a router and 2 satellites. It provides plenty of coverage for me .

Re: Trying to decide which router: Nighthawk AC1900 or Nighthawk AC2600
Neither one of those is a model number. Both are speeds.
What models are you looking at?
For single router solutions. I usually recommend the R7800 or XR500.
I am a fan of the mesh solutions (like orbi) through as they might not have as good of peak speeds but tend to have significantly higher average throughput throughout a home.

Re: Trying to decide which router: Nighthawk AC1900 or Nighthawk AC2600
Hi,
Thanks for all the information. I really appreciate it.
The incorrect router numbers I sent earlier were how they were listed on amazon. 😊👍
So the routers I was considering were the R7000 and the R7800.
I assume that for the $15 difference I should go with the R7800.
The XR500 is $70 more than the R7800. $240 vs $170.
Do you think that the XR500 is worth the significant price jump? If the improvement over the R7800 is significant I would go with the XR500 - even though $240 is more than I want to spend.
Also, I just learned about the Orbi routers in your reply. Would the RBK23, RBK50,or RBR20 Orbi be what you would recommend for a medium sized house. (Still leaning toward the XR500 or R7800 because those are the more standard routers I am accustomed to). However, if they are better maybe I should go with Orbi.
Again, thanks for your help.

Re: Trying to decide which router: Nighthawk AC1900 or Nighthawk AC2600
I don't think the priced difference from the R7800 to the XR500 would be worth it for you.
The orbi might be. Orbi, in my opinion, the best option for many people with decent sized homes.
How big is yours?
Recently amazon has had a 3 pack of renewed RBK43's for $200-210. That'd be worth it in my opinion if your house needed it. Much depends on size. Orbi satellites don't like to be to close to each other or the router.

+1 for the R7800. The R7000 is beginning to show its age somewhat

Re: Trying to decide which router: Nighthawk AC1900 or Nighthawk AC2600
Thank you for the additional info.
Our home is approximately 2200 sqft
The modem and router are kept in the basement.
Of course basement space is not included when calculating the sqft of a home.

Re: Trying to decide which router: Nighthawk AC1900 or Nighthawk AC2600
Yeah, 3200 sounds about right including the basement.
I really appreciate you help.
Have a nice rest of your day.
Sincerely,
Adam
