Hello Netgear community, hope you're all doing well.
I'm writing this post just acknowledge that, as per my prior experience with the firmware (V1.0.2.68), the Upnp isn't functioning, and I would always see the yellow light in Bitcomet.
My internet connection is PPPOE with username & password.
It works now, after reverting back to the older version which is V1.0.2.62. Please can others confirm on this issue. It would be helpful if the developers could fix the issue which persists.
Thank you

Re: UPNP broken in Netgear R7800 on firmware 1.0.2.68
Often it feels better if others have it as bad or worse than yourself.
The latest version 1.0.4.46 for R8000 also have UNPN broken, not a word from Netgear even if a huge number of users have reported this for the last 5 months. They have not even acknowledge that it doesn’t work.

Re: UPNP broken in Netgear R7800 on firmware 1.0.2.68
You are luck, I'm running firmware V1.0.2.62 and uPNP is not working!!!
I tried V1.0.2.68 and same issue! How can Netgear miss the ball on such a good wifi router?
My uPNP stay always clear, can't connect to games online, can't have my NAS to expose services to outside.

Re: UPNP broken in Netgear R7800 on firmware 1.0.2.68
UPNP is often a risk. Better setup your program to use a specific port and do a port forwarding on the router using that port and IP reserved DHCP address on the computer you run the program

If they acknowledge the firmware is broken then folks would expect them to fix it. This way they can sit back and ignore since they do not acknowledge an issue. There are firmware issues that are over a year old that plagued my r8000 when I had it and the issues are still present. I would not hold my breath as it seems that there is no testing of firmware for bug fixes before posting. On top of that, lots of lucky folks cannot use features they bought the router for, because in Negear's infinite wisdom they added Armor and had to remove features to make room for Armor. Not the company I remember. My Netgear modem works fine, but I moved on for a router.

Re: UPNP broken in Netgear R7800 on firmware 1.0.2.68
Any update on this? I'm still using the 1.0.2.62 for months now, and seems to be rock stable but would like to have a new firmware for security fixes if persists or other enhancements or improvements & new features.
Netgear isn't planning to release another firmware with a working upnp?

Check whether your upnp service is enabled on the services.msc if you're running windows. I can confirm the upnp is working on 1.0.2.62 but not on the 1.0.2.68

Re: UPNP broken in Netgear R7800 on firmware 1.0.2.68
For me, DLNA (uPnP) was working on 1.0.2.68. Then I turned it off, and then turned it back on. From since then, uPnP stopped working - all my videos cannot be streamed. Not only that, SMB access to videos also stopped working for my iPhone and iPad, even though SMB is still working on my macOS. Tried a lot of reboots / configs but can't work. Downgraded to 1.0.2.62 and every video on uPnP and SMB streamed well. Upgraded back to 1.0.2.68 and every video just stopped streaming again. I am now on 1.0.2.62..

Re: UPNP broken in Netgear R7800 on firmware 1.0.2.68
No, unfortunately they didn't fix that one.
I upgraded to 1.0.2.74 yesterday and rolled back to 1.0.2.62

I gave up on Netgear wifi routers. I moved on to Ubiquiti hardware, they have many options and Price ranges. I highly recommend that.

UPNP not working
my Synology server does not recognize as UPNP router.
If you have deactivated UPNP for safety reasons, please delete this function.

1.0.2.68 does not work for me. 1.0.2.62 works. I have not tested 1.0.2.78. Have you?

Yes, I just now updated to 1.0.2.78, they've finally fixed the UPNP. You can test it on Bitcomet app or any of the online website tool.

Re: UPNP broken in Netgear R7800 on firmware 1.0.2.68
Hi, I tried the latest firmware 1.0.2.78. uPnP cannot work for me. I used vlc player to try accessing video files. Turned off and on uPnP, still cannot. Once I downgraded back to 1.0.62, uPnP worked not only perfectly, but very fast.

Re: UPNP broken in Netgear R7800 on firmware 1.0.2.68
Unfortunately the situation repeats itself in firmware 1.0.2.90
UPNP has stopped working again.
Is there any way to get a port forwarding list in place quickly? I have about 80 items to enter.

Re: UPNP broken in Netgear R7800 on firmware 1.0.2.68
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What devices do you have connected?
How is the router configured?
How are you determining that uPnP is failing?
Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
You can try Voxels FW.
