- For "WiFi Protected IP address" are you referring the MAC address privacy setting?
- Setting security to None does not allow devices to connect
- I updated the channels as described - no material effect; on the rare occasion that my Android would establish a connection it did seem to last slightly longer (maybe 30 seconds) but it always failed again
- Smart Connect was disabled; I enabled it and tried again, but to no effect
- WMM is enabled for all bands
My building provides me with a single wired connection, and I have my router plugged into that. I don't know what the hardware is on the other end, unfortunately.
Interesting...not connecting at all to the router with no WPA enabled.
Yes, on iOS, disable this setting.
So no devices are getting connected to the router at all and not getting any kind of IP address from the router on the device?
Or are they connecting and just not getting any internet services?
On my Android device, it will report that it is connected sometimes, usually for less than 5 seconds. This is both with WPA2 AES and without. Once I got it to connect for about 30 seconds. When it reports that it is connected and it stays connected long enough, I can see that it does get an IP address, and it appears it can access the internet. But the connection always drops and the re-connect cycle starts over again, until the device finally gives up and stops trying to connect.
I have not yet had any success with my Mac maintaining a connection for even a couple of seconds, and I don't have an iOS device at my side right now, but was having issues with an iOS device last week when this issue started.
Wondering if this unit is going bad.
IF you have done a full reset, pulled the power adapter for 1 minute then back ON and setup from scratch and still not getting connected.Only other thing to check would be the volts and amps on the power adapter.
There any top LED indications when this happens or are they seemingly normal?
I was also wondering if the unit might be going bad, but hoped that since this started only after changing the SSID that there would be some answer I'd been overlooking.
Everything is seemingly normal with the LEDs - they look just like always have when things were operating normally. I'll try to get my hands on a device that has never been connected to this router and see if that makes any difference.
