From what I understand this should be possible. I want to use the R7000P as a wired WiFi extender with little configuration and as low maintenance as possible. Please clarify my terminology if needed and point the way to some documentation, it would be greatly appreciated.
ISP Router <wired-to> GS308 <wired-to> R7000P
- I want WiFi coming from my ISP Router
- I also want WiFi coming from the R7000P (If possible to have the same WiFi connection/name as the ISP, that would be great. Understandable if this requires a second WiFi connection/name)
- I am not looking for wireless WiFi extender solutions, only wired
- If the R7000P needs to be directly wired to the ISP Router, that is an option although not prefered
- If the R7000P cannot do this, please recommend another Netgear solution

The phrase is "wireless access point".
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Look for "Use the Router as a
WiFi Access Point".
> ISP Router <wired-to> GS308 <wired-to> R7000P
The network switch should be harmless.

I'd run the experiment.
