The new R700 Beta is on Google Drive. Why?
Who put it there and is it SAFE??? From the posting I assume ElaineM, the moderator did but again, why not on the 'normal' NG site?

Not sure why it's GD.. I'm running it. It works. No malbots.. I run it the R7000 in AP mode, so don't ask me what's fixed, etc..

Thank you for responding and even moving it Elaine.
Since I didn't know the origin of the file I had to ask why, you can never tell if it was hacked and then placed there.
I've got the file and will probably load it tomorrow when the use is down in the morning.

Ok, have it DOWN and INSTALLED over 1.0.4.30.
First reset the router via the reset button. Checked ALL prior settings were gone and then installed the Beta. Manually reset the required settings.
Testing now and all seems well. Connection speeds seem OK now and I even tested the USB drive.
You can be sure I'll post if I encounter problems, but so far, all is well.

I've been looking every few hours today. I've not seen any attacks.
My log entry items are:
I even left UPnP enabled which could cause ports to open and possibly let in some attacks.
I've seen DOS attacks many times with all the other F/W levels. I really suspect it is not a real attack in that I never saw large scale log entries that a true attack would create. I suspect more a 'lost' TCP/IP packet due to some s/w glitch.
So far today, all seems well. My wife's PC is AC wireless and she's not told me of any problems and she does know I updated the router. The few times today I've used an iPad it seems to also be working fine. Everything seems stable right now.
