WiFi speed drops with firmware 1.0.9.26_10.2.31

I use the R7000 AC1900 as AP, only on 2.4 GHz.

It offers great coverage throughout the house.

Since I updated to firmware 1.0.9.26_10.2.31 I saw the speed on WiFi drop to approx 3 Mbps.

The WAN connection also dropped regularly.

After downgrading to V1.0.9.14_1.2.25 speeds and connectivity are stable again.

Anyone with similar issues?

Rgds,

Koen

Re: WiFi speed drops with firmware 1.0.9.26_10.2.31

QoS is not available when using the R7000 as an AP.

But I gave FW V1.0.9.26_10.2.31 another try ... and this time WiFi speeds are back to normal!

I have no idea why... but something is different (and I did not change any settings appart from the firmware version).

Re: WiFi speed drops with firmware 1.0.9.26_10.2.31

Hello,

I am still relucant to upgrade from V1.0.9.6_1.2.19 to 1.0.9.26_10.2.31.  Firmware V1.0.9.6_1.2.19 might have security holes but at least has been the most stable from earlier releases.

I have 1 R7000 as router and  2 R7000 as AP's.  Reading this post I am still not convident to upgrade even my 2 R7000 AP's.

Netgear please release a firmware that works for all modes and no WIFI issues please.

Brgds,

Bas.

Been a known issues with v.26 FW. Users reported better results after reverting back to previous working FW.

Re: WiFi speed drops with firmware 1.0.9.26_10.2.31

Same with me but narrowed to be more flakey specifically with the 2.4GHz devices for me.  Connected devices not showing properly also part of what I saw as a problem, and still is.

- Turned off QoS and it has been fine since, at least for me.

- Went back to earlier version on same router then all was OK also for me.

This FW is definately a bad one.

Try turning off QoS I guess as a quick check, maybe it will help you too. (and you can keep the FW with the security patches) I do want QoS back again though so I am looking forward to an update for sure.

Good to hear. I would to hear more confirmations that the lastest firmware works well. I might then at least start to upgrade my AP as they lauch DOS Smurf-attacks against my R7000 Router.
