Wifi Help with AC1900 (C7000v2)?
Hello.
I was wondering if someone could help me with an issue I've been having with my AC1900's wifi speeds.
I use Xfinity's blast tier for my internet. It's supposed to be up to 400mbps, which is accurate as when I plug my laptop in with an ethernet cable I measure to about 460mbps. My wifi speeds aren't so hot though. In the same room, my laptop and phone will only measure about 250-280mbps.
I checked the stats on my the nighthawk app, and the firmware from Xfinity is the most recent v1.03.03. Does anyone have any idea what my problem might be? 250 is still servicable on a phone, but if I'm paying what I'm paying for the Blast service, I woulda thought these wifi speeds would be a bit better. Thanks!

Re: Wifi Help with AC1900 (C7000v2)?
that's about what you can expect out of wifi on the C7000's 5ghz. Some devices might get a little more speed if their wifi chip is more efficient.
the C7000 is a modem/router combo device and not simply a router. so it has to share its power/performance budget between the modem and the router. A rough equivelent router is the R7000 and its speeds will hit a bit faster than that but not a ton.
Wifi speeds are greatly overinflated. If you want to read more about it, read this article:

Something to keep in mind though is that 250-300mbps is enough to do most any tast. Even streaming 4k only uses 25-40mbps. So your games might not download quite as fast but any real time situation (streaming live tv/gaming/etc) should do fine
