Wireless router and spectrum
I bought a new RAX42 and while it works fine without giving any warnings that it’s not approved or compatible, I feel like the speed and the level it is performing for me isn’t the best. Should I call spectrum and see about getting a replacement modem from them? Mind you I’ve had the modem from spectrum for several years now. Any help is appreciated!

Re: Wireless router and spectrum
You could call them and ask if the current modem you have is capable of the speeds that you are supposed to get from the level of service that you are paying for. I know that in my area they increased the speeds I am getting and that may be the case for you as well. If you have an old modem that is only capable of a certain max speed, then if may be a bottleneck. Keep in mind though that wi-fi speeds may not approach the max speed you are capable if hardwired.
