problems with R6400v2 Reserved IP
Hello, I am trying to set up some reserved IP addresses for certain computers connecting wirelessly. For the most part I have had no problems setting this up in the LAN settings of the router. I connect the laptop and it sets the laptop with the correct IP adress. However if I were to set the Static IP of the Laptop to something else, then set it back to dynamic the Router will not assign the correct IP address to the laptop again until I both forget the network connection, restart the laptop then reconnect and log back on to the wireless network. Is this normal?

Ok. ADVANCED > Setup > LAN Setup : Address Reservation?

Terminology: A "static" address is configured on the device itself.
What you configure on a (DHCP server on a) router is a reserved dynamic
address, not a static address. Either one should fix the address of a
device, but some implications are different.
All your reserved addresses are dynamic, not static. They're just
more reliable than non-reserved dynamic addresses.

Probably. A good DHCP server is not whimsical. When it issues
("leases") an address (and other IP properties) to a device (interface),
it should be loath to change those data so long as the connection
persists (or longer, out to the lease expiration). Proper operation of
the device typically depends on that kind of stability.
Additionally, if your reserved addresses are in the DHCP pool, then
your newly reserved address might already be in use by some other
device. Acting immediately on such a reservation could be very
disruptive.
General advice: Get organized. Decide on your address reservations.
Restart everyone. Be happy. Undesirable with DHCP:
