trouble with OpenDNS
I've been using OpenDNS succesfully for several years with my Nighthawk R7800 (firmware: V1.0.2.78 (latest)). I had turned off OpenDNS during virtual school for various reasons and recently reenabled it to discover that my wireless router no longer uses the DNS entries I provide. I've tested this on multiple devices -- laptops, mobile and desktops with the same results. OpenDNS is not being used although my router reports that the DNS is properly set -- stats/logs prove there are 0 requests from my router to OpenDNS.
Is this router doomed with custom DNS support?

How, exactly, did you reach this conclusion? The _router_ isn't, or
some web browser running on some computer/device isn't, or what,
exactly?
If a computer/device is configured to use some particulr real-world
DNS server(s), and not the router, then I would not expect the DNS
configuration of the router to affect it much. Similarly, a web browser
which uses "DNS over HTTPS" can bypass all local DNS settings.
