Adding AX1800 to my network

I added an AX1800 to my network, as I occasionally need a wired connection to one or two computers connected via Ethernet in my garage & had a couple of questions.

1) Should this be boosting my Wi-Fi signal out there, as well? Because I'm showing the same signal strength with it on or off.

2) Under attached devices its showing as connected via 2.4 GHz wireless. Is that right or should/could it be connecting via 5 GHz?

3) Should this be extending my Wi-Fi as well, or it just extending it via adding wired connections?

Thanks!

Which AX1800?  That  is not a reliable guide to model number. Many devices come with an AX tag, but it is essentially a label that Netgear, and other brands, attach to hardware to describe wifi speeds.

Look at the label on the device for the model number.

You have tagged the MK72. Where does that come into the picture?

Answer those questions and maybe someone can help with the others you asked.
