Ax1800 mesh WiFi- turn router into a node?
We have a very large home and outdoor barn and shop. Purchased 2 of the 3 pack ax1800 mesh WiFi system (total of 2 routers and 4 satellites). I was able to set up the router and add 4 nodes, but can’t get the router device from second box to connect to the network. Is there a way to solve this so the router is an access point only on the network? I’d rather not have 2 routers.

MR router can only work as a router or in ethernet AP mode.

What did you buy? AX1800 is not a Netgear model number. MK62?
If you bought two routers, then will have a hard time getting them to work together as two routers.
I’d rather not have 2 routers.Good call there. It probably won't work anyway.
Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local address problems. Among other things, the other router can misdirect addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.
This explains some of the other drawbacks.

Do you need the extra router? If the router and four satellites cover the area, then you can just leave the second router in its box.Or you can put the second router into AP mode and plug it into one of your other devices.
