EAX29 WiFi Mesh Nighthawk

Please help!  I have a new extender, and got my modem and router replaced yesterday and can't get the Nighthawk app to let me change my connection info!  I have a $130  2-week-old brick as of yesterday.  My phone, where I have the Nighthawk app, is connected, but the app says I'm not!  No way to select a new network or anything.  Ideas? Netgear doesn't offer actual support, no chat option or ph#, so please please please someone help this older user not throw my technology out the window!!!

Re: EAX29 WiFi Mesh Nighthawk

Since you have a new modem/router I'd start with factory resetting.

I think you have the EAX20?

Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while the extender is powered on.

then follow the new install guide.

Reads more like the new devices added yesterday - specifically the router - have not been reconfigured to use the same wireless network name and security key? If leaving the new router on it's defaults (or any other settings than used before) does prohibit the extender to connect to the new routr network and to the Internet. To make it even more difficult, the modern mobile phones tend towards not using a wireless network unless you tell it to connect to the one configued on the extender _and_ tell the phone to stay connected even if there is no Internet. Cumbersome again, at that point there is no connection to the router, so no DHCP, ... so the extender might be hard to reach at this point, in absense of a local network subnet config.

As pointed out before, the second best solution would be a factory reset and scratch re-installation of the exender.

The best solutionwould have been to re-configure the new router accordingly.  But hey, one could not complain about the Netgear extender then ...
