Is MS60 WiFi 5 satellite compatiable with MR70 WiFi 6 router?
Greetings,
Just replaced my MR60 w/two MS60's WiFi 5 mesh with the MR70 +2 MS70's WiFi 6. This is the MK73S "Costco special" $200 kit.
Can the MS60 satellites be configured to work with the MR70 router?
Or any way to utilize the old WiFi 5 router for anything useful in a home network?
Thanks in advance.

You can try and see. Not too sure. There both dual band, however the 60 series is only 1200Mpbs supporting on 5Ghz where the 70 series is 2400Mbps. FW versions are a bit different as well so not sure if they are compatible. Try and let us know if you do.

I was able to add one of the MS60's to the MR70. it's #3 here and thinks it's a MS70 (?)
But it's amber:
The other MS60 timed out while trying to sync.

I am in the same scenario, I have an MR60/MS60system and Costco has the MR70/MS70 system for 200 bucks. I called Netgear support and they assured me they are compatible. I'm in for a try.

Second “Will the MS60 satellite work with the MR70 router?” Short answer NO!
Long answer “Our engineers are working on a fix which should be ready in the beginning of 2023”.
Hope that helps someone else not spend too many hours squeezing that info from tech support!

I would avoid mixing MS60 with the MR70 system, at least until NG makes it work, if that's there intent.

Re: Is MS60 WiFi 5 satellite compatiable with MR70 WiFi 6 router?
I manually updated my MR70 and MS70's to v1.0.3.32 this morning. I tried to add one of my old MS60's (v1.1.7.132) via a wired connection through a GB switch and it seems to be working. I initially tried the wireless sync, but it timed out. I plugged it in to ethernet and got the blue light and see it on the devices table.
When I was on the prior version of firmware (1.0.2.26) it wouldn't link up and the MS60 had an orange light whether wired or wireless.
I got the new version from the download center:
https://www.netgear.com/support/download/?model=MS70
https://www.netgear.com/support/download/?model=MR70
I also downloaded the 1.0.2.26 version files in case I need to downgrade later. So far so good. I just wish there was a good way to change the names of the devices as they all show up as "Satellite-1"

Re: Is MS60 WiFi 5 satellite compatiable with MR70 WiFi 6 router?
Well, I may have spoken too soon. The MS60 was running fine for the last couple of hours with the blue light so I went to move it to a better location and after startup I got the orange light again. Before that I was able to see it on my NetSpot with a strong wifi signal as it was right next to me.
I tried changing the patch cable and then eventually moved it back to the same place it was originally working and still get the orange light after the startup flashing white light. I could hit it by IP and could login, but I got a message saying it isn't connecting to the network with a list of various reasons.
I then tried a full reset of the device and still get the orange light, plus now I'm getting a 404 Not Found when I try to login. The "Attached Device" list still shows it "Wired" with "Good" backhaul status, but it's obviously not working right anymore.
I'll keep you posted if anything changes after further troubleshooting efforts, but seems like the new firmware on the MR70 didn't fully solve the compatibility with the MS60. It shouldn't be this complicated.
