MR60 Slow

With both MS turned off the speed is even slower at 40mbps down and 0.8 up (no that's not a typo, less than 1mbps upload speed). The switch is a TP-Link, but couldn't find the model number. Above the ports the only label says 10/100/1000 so I assume its gigabit and it must be because the hardwired computer is getting 960 mbps down and 950 upload.

I scanned all the wifi channels and found open ones, I have probably 7-8 other nearby networks, but for right now I'm using channel 09 for 2.4G and 161 for 5.8G. No speed improvement. No traffic meter, armor, or any of that is enabled. I did uncheck the 20/40Mhz. I have done a factory reset and made sure the latest firmware (v1.1.7.134) is installed.

4600 sq ft house, router and satellites are evenly spaced more than 30 ft apart. Cat 5E cable. I did have a brown out a while back and it took reinstalling the firmware to get it to function properly. I guess I never noticed the slow speeds until recently when I started doing a lot of file transfers off my Surface Pro.

Re: MR60 Slow

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

How is Advanced Wifi settings configured on the MR?

Are the MS wireless or ethernet connected?

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Smart Parental Controls or Circle, Traffic Meter.

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

You might try CAT6 UTP cabliing.
