Mesh System Won't Broadcast SSID during setup.
Hi! Any help is appreciated.
Router: CAX30
Mesh System: MK63S
Internet works fine from the router, but across the house where my desktop is, it's awful, hence the mesh system. But after powering on the mesh system for initial setup, the app tells me to connect to the mesh's SSID, which doesn't broadcast. My router's regular SSID broadcasts, though.
Here are my steps:
- Reboot everything (I've previously factory reset both the router and mesh system, no fix).
- Open Nighthawk android app, click set up mesh system. Scan the QR code, place both satellites, wait.
- The app either then tells me the app doesn't support this router and to go to routerlogin.net (can't find how to set up a mesh system there) or it continues to the next step and tells me to connect to the mesh system's SSID.
- I open wifi, it's not there. And then a deadend.
In routerlogin.net, every setting I can find says it's broadcasting SSID. It's just the extender that isn't broadcasting/working.

Re: Mesh System Won't Broadcast SSID during setup.
Try this. Disconnect the MK system from the CAX. Reset the MK system again by pushing and holding reset for up to 15 seconds while powered on. Then during the install of the MK system, connect a pc/laptop to it for setup. After going through setup (use a different ssid from CAX), make sure to put it in access point mode and have the wifi on different channels from the MK system to the CAX system. Once that's done and its in AP mode, then hardwire it into the CAX

Re: Mesh System Won't Broadcast SSID during setup.
Thanks so much for the reply. None of the devices I own have an Ethernet port. Any workaround for that?

Re: Mesh System Won't Broadcast SSID during setup.
I have hard reset the mesh, plugged it into the router, but when I go to routerlogin.net, there is nothing about setting up a mesh system. I've searched in every nook and cranny.

Re: Mesh System Won't Broadcast SSID during setup.
disconnect the MK63 from the CAX. when its connected, its in a double nat with 2x routers running. the 2nd one needs to be in access point mode. So disconnect i from the cax, try using the routerlogin or its IP address then. go through setup and put it in AP mode before connecting it to the CAX.

If I disconnect it (the mr60?) from the CAX it still is just in set up mode (not sure exactly what you mean by this, screensnips might help) . Neither of the satellites ever sync with it (they'll only sync with the mr router, not the cax). They try but they time out and have amber lights for a bit. Also, if I disconnect them from the CAX, there is no SSID and so I'm connected to nothing and routerlogin.net just times out, you know?----factory reset the MR router, hardwire the satellites into it. when its rebooting, connect to the MR system and use the browser based installation. once set, then switch it to AP mode and hardwire the MR into the CAX
Anyway I am just going to return and try the TP link Deco.-----I think you'd do better to get a modem only device and connect the MR system to it or a deco system do it, Running 2x routers puts you in a double nat and causes issues. Its what you've been battling the whole time. I appreciate you trying to help so I'll send the kudos ♡ thank you
