Netgear mk62 network mapping

I added another sattelite to my mk62 setup, for a while the setup was working but the sattelite mapping randomly goes beside each other as you can see in the screenshot . I tried factory resetting and doing the setup over again but that is just a temporary fix. So what happens is that the sattelites keep swapping to get the signal of the router and because of that both don't work and one of the sattelites shouldn't even be able too connect to the router because of the range.

Re: Netgear mk62 network mapping

Is FW up to date and same across all MS as with whats on the MR?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between MR 📡 and MS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

Does the newer MS keep connected if you turn OFF the older MS as a test?

Re: Netgear mk62 network mapping

Hi there,

Thanks for your help! Here are the details you requested:

  1. Firmware (FW) Status:

    • All my devices (MR and MS) are running firmware version v1.1.7.134. The app indicates that everything is up to date.
  2. Home Size:

    • My home is approximately 110 square meters (which converts to around 1184 square feet).
  3. Distance Between Devices:

    • The distance between my router (MR) and the satellites (MS) is about 10 meters (approximately 33 feet). The router is located downstairs, and the satellite in my room, which is roughly 20 meters (approximately 66 feet) from the router, stays connected even when I turn off the older satellite that is closest to the router.

It seems the newer satellite remains connected to the router without any issues, despite the older one being turned off which is strange because that didn't work when I first did my setup with 1 satellite (the older one).

Thanks for your assistance.

Re: Netgear mk62 network mapping

For now I will put the newer one further away and see how it goes, right now it seems like the problem is solved. This is strange because when I first did the setup the range didn't go that far and stayed on amber light but now it's fine.

Re: Netgear mk62 network mapping

For that size of home, the MR and just one MS should be enough. Two MS maybe too much.
