Netgear PLW1010V2 Capabilities

I recently picked up a Netgear PLW1010v2 and integrated it into my home network. The powerline series if pretty cool as it uses the electrical infrastructure for the house. The manual was pretty basic and I have a question regarding the capabilities of the PLW1010v2. It's currently set up as an access point, where users have to log into this as a seperate network. Is there a way to set this device up so that users can move around the house without constantly dropping network connectivity due to switching between access points?

That specific powerline device doesn't have the mesh capabilities in it. That basically means it doesn't have the seamless option built in.

With that said, there are apps for phones that have wifi switching built in based upon rssi strength. Its an option to help  with reducing the network drops. Its a bit of a pain as each device needs it and its device specific.

Your other option is to upgrade to a mesh system where the hardware handles the roaming.

There should be nothing that stops you from set-up the same network name and security key as in place on your primary router.

This will allow much earlier roaming - with different network names, a client will stick much to long on low signal level and quality on the "wrong" access point.
