I have a problem with both of my routers. netgear rax 40 and netgear r7500.
Are these on the same network?
Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local address problems. Among other things, the other router can misdirect addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.
It is not as straightforward as you might think to switch between routers. You can't just unplug one router and stick in another one.
Are you rebooting the whole network when you do this? And doing it in the correct order?
As this is a router, there is probably a modem sitting in front of it. You need to get the devices to forget any inherited settings. Among other things, that means rebooting the network.
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.
What is the modem, if there is one, in front of these routers?
To me, that suggests a problem with something other than a router.

As the message says, this is typically a credentials (user name, password) problem. Clearly, if you got the "401" response, then your web browser is communicating with the web site.

With my weak(er) psychic powers, I don't know what he's thinking, but it might be exactly that straightforward. It's often pretty easy.

Perhaps _you_ can't. I've done it many times. It's often pretty easy.
