AC1750 smart router R6400v2
My network is designated as NETGEAR38. I just noticed that I have also been on NETGEAR83-5G. I don't know how I could have gotten. on another network. I asked a visting friend to sign on with my password and he could not. This is really weird. Does anyone have an explanation

The R6400 is dual band. Meaning it has a 2.4ghz and 5ghz. You can log into the router and check what your ssid and password are for your router.

Thank you for your response. I do understand there are 2 bands- 2.4 and 5g. But my concern is that my 2.4 band is named Netgear38 while my 5G is named Netgear83-5G. Did the numbers get transposed somehow?

Or it could be someone else's. Thats why you can log into the router to check/change the ssid/password.
