AC2200 WiFi Mesh Extender (EX7500) with Asus XT8
Was looking for a tri band solution to extend my existing mesh network (Asus XT8). Will this work and use the 2nd 5ghz band for backhaul or does it require Netgear products for that?

It might work with the system but it isn't going to integrate with it.
In my experience, if you have a current mesh system, its best to add its own compatible satellites to it.
It can work without but tends to have a bit lesser performance/stability/integration.
