AC3200 WiFi Cable Mode Router Model C7800 Denial of Service Attacks

My teenage son uses Xbox to play Overwatch. Recently when he has been playing, our Internet connection has been getting interrupted. He believes players on the opposing team are launching denial of service attacks to cause this. I figured out how to look at the logs and indeed see a lot of DoS attacks. What can we do to stop this from happening? My son believes subscribing to a VPN would do it. Would it? And, if so, how do we set that up?

Re: AC3200 WiFi Cable Mode Router Model C7800 Denial of Service Attacks

most dos attacks you see are false positives or simple port scans.

If you search the forums, you'll see lots of people reporting these with most not being an issue. here's an example:

How is he gaming? over wifi or hardwired in?

What speeds do you pay for?

What speeds do you actually get when hardwired into the C7800? (both upload and download)
