Access Point using SFP+
I have a 10G network in my house and want to change out some devices to 10G. The Nighthawk, I see, has an SFP+ port. I have read that the new firmware will allow the SFP+ port be used as a WAN for a router. However, I have a Cisco router already and don't want another but I do want and Access Point WiFi.
Can I configure the R9000 as an Access Point and feed the network into the SFP+ port?
I know it will be a little better than a paper weight but I should get more speed out of it and avoiding a switch to dumb down the network just for this device.
Also, can anybody tell me about the "Mesh"? is it also used as an Access point too? or does it get its signal from the Nighthawk radio?
This is for pre-sales. Don't want to spend this kind of money and can't use it.
