Address Reservation Problem
Hello!
I have a problem with address reservation on my new router Nighthawk RAX50 .
I have added a bunch of cameras that need a fixed IP under ADVANCED - SETUP - LAN SETUP
It all worked fine yesterday but during the night some of the cameras has reconnected and to my surprise they got another IP that I have not reserved. All cameras have an IP reserved that is in the range 2-30. First I had my DHCP starting address set at 1 but today I suspected that maybe the reserved ones has to be outside that range so I changed it to start at 35. Then I reboted the router but the cameras still go the wrong IP. Can someone explain what I am missing here?
Example of one of the cams, this is what I have reserved:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
192.168.15.32 CAM2 00:FA:A7:65:3F:45
-------------------------------------------------------------------
DHCP: Starting IP: 192.168.15.35
Ending IP: 192.168.15.255
Looking at Attached Devices I see: CAM2 192.168.15.236

Re: Address Reservation Problem
Maybe your cams change their MAC address. Some are known to do that

Re: Address Reservation Problem
Are they connecting using a different band? (using smart connect and the camera moved from one band to the other)
I've seen issues (rarely) where devices are assigned a different ip address or mac because they went from 2.4ghz to 5ghz connection.

Re: Address Reservation Problem
They are wired and connected to a switch that goes to the backside of the router.
