App vs. Browser
Greetings,
This FAQ link:
Says,
"We highly recommend you use the NETGEAR Nighthawk or Orbi app to access and monitor your router."
Can anyone explain to me why the apps are "highly recommended" as opposed to just accessing my router via a web browser, as I always have?
Thanks!

Re: App vs. Browser
Not sure why they say highly.
i usually don't recommend it because i tend to get more accurate info and more details through the browser. I also highly discourage people from updating firmware over the app or over wireless.

Probably because Netgear wants to dumb down things to the lowest common denominator.
Anyone with the tiniest bit of technical competence would warn against using a wifi based system that has limited features and is more liable to fall over than a wired link into a device.
