Both bandwiths not working

 This afternoon, we lost Internet. After a few tests it was definitely the router. Resolve both the 2.4 and 5G bands were not on the router. I tried powering it down several times to no avail. I wasn’t sure what else to do, so I did a factory reset, Which did the job. The problem is we had to set up every camera and device in the house again the complete pain in the butt. Was there some other way to reset the Wi-Fi without factory resetting everything?

You could use Genie from a Browser to BACKUP the settings to a hard disk. Since you'll be using the same Firmware that would be OK to reload (restore) the settings.

 

The bigger concern would be 'why' did this happen? Could be a sign of a router going bad or the power supply causing this?

That would be problematic.its only 8 months old and the first one I bought lasted 2 hours. This doesn’t inspire confidence in Netgear products at all.
