   Are you sure that that's terse enough?  What, exactly, does "turn on
port X" mean to you?

   General advice: Describe in plain language the actual problem which
you are trying to solve, rather than asking how to implement some
"solution" ("turn on port X"), which may have little or nothing to do
with your actual problem.  Also, inventing your own, idiosyncratic
technical terms ("turn on port X") is unhelpful.

   If you're trying to make your new web server accessible from the
outside world, then you might want to investigate port forwarding.

   Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read.  Look for
"Specify Internet Port Settings".
