CM1150V modem -Comcast 1Gpbs paired with R8000 X6 Tri band router

Firmwares all at currnet level   (CM1150V v04.02.02) (R8000 - V1.0.4.62_10.1.74)

CM1150V - Reset to Factory defaults and provisioned CM1150V firmware push from Comcast Xfinity Illinois

Xfinity Illinois 1Gbps service

Using R8000 speed test cannot get above 400Mbps down / 45Mbps up

Using Wired Cat5e Win10 PC at 1000Full/Full - cannot get speeds above 400Mbps

Xfinity Comcast tech - replaced line from pole to home NIB box and line from NIB to Spliter -3db one goes to STB and one to CM1150V modem.

After telling me he's seen it only option to put leased XB7 Xfinity/Comcast box - shows me 947Mbps on that... says bad NetGear box.

I am now running 30 day trial of XB7 to my own Netgear R8000 which wired Cat5e PC tests show 900+Mbps down/45+up do note the R8000 QoS speed test never gets above 440Mbps when run in this configuration even tho with QoS turned off and manually specifying speed of 1000 down / 45 up the PCs wired get 900+down/40+ up....   So obviously R8000 speed test is broken?

Since CM1150V is approved supported 32x8 DOCSIS3.1 modem on Xfinity site and the firmware is pushed from head-end comcast - I have no recourse...   I know even if I replace with brand new CM1150V I'l be back where I started.   I don't want to pay comcast leasing fees for a dumb modem... but if they won't support it what can I do?   Tech says he's seen CM1000 or CM2000 get 1Gpbs...

Suggestions for getting CM1150V working at 1Gpbs down?

Re: CM1150V modem -Comcast 1Gpbs paired with R8000 X6 Tri band router

The R8000 router's speed test in the QoS would never report over 400Mpbs

Had Xfinity/Comcast out they replaced Coax RG6 from pole(arial line) to house to NIB and then RG6 from NIB to splitter with one outlet to TV Box and one to Netgear CM1150V -- then direct connect CAT6 to R8000 wifi router and CAT 6 to PC/MacBook.

I had to reset router to factory defaults - using OoS speed test in Firmware on R8000 still wouldn't report over 400Mpbs

Then using PC wired ethernet to R8000  i was able to obtain 945Mpbs via Ookla and Xfinity speed tests.

Returned the XB7 - good to go.

Speed test inside R8000 is foobar

Re: CM1150V modem -Comcast 1Gpbs paired with R8000 X6 Tri band router

When you were testing the cm1150V, did you have the router connected?

Make sure to test it directly off the cm1150v.

So cm1150v-----pc.

what pc are you testing on?

Are you getting full speeds directly off the XB7?

You realize the xb7 has its own integrated router? Do you have the R8000 in access point mode to prevent a double nat?

Re: CM1150V modem -Comcast 1Gpbs paired with R8000 X6 Tri band router

Until recently I used a CM1150V on Comcast 1 gig service. Had no issues with speed, over 900Mbps down and 40 up. So there is no reason why the modem cannot handle what you have. As suggesting try connecting straight to the modem and see what you get,

Re: CM1150V modem -Comcast 1Gpbs paired with R8000 X6 Tri band router

You're right. The built in speedtest is borked.

Reason why is you can't switch what server it connects to for testing speeds and it rarely picks the fastest one.

Its why we usually recommend testing with a pc direct connected to the router.

I'm glad to see that you got the issue fixed though!

If you mark it solved, it might help the next person with your issue.
