CM1200 modem-which router?

So I’m not very tech savvy at all... let me lead with that. I have a CM1200 on the way because I’m tired of paying the rental rate through my provider. I have also just purchased an Nighthawk X6 R8000 AC3200 router to accompany that modem. Is this router going to be enough? Thanks in advance!

Enough for what?

the R8000 is plagued by some serious issues in its firmware judging by the complaints about it and the R7000. Current recommended NG router is the R7800, which has better range and is "faster" hardware-wise anyways. Has true HW acceleration offload too instead of crappy CTF on the R8000

Routing: NETGEAR RAX43 - Firmware: v1.0.11.112 (1 Gbps down, 50 Mbps up)
Switching: 2x NETGEAR 8-ports (GS108v4) / 1x NETGEAR 16-ports (JGS516v2)
Desktop: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X - Server: Intel Core i7-7700K - NAS: Intel Pentium G4400, 20 TB

Many see issues with devices in the forums and think all the devices have problems. Not true. yes, there can be issues but so can all routers.

The r8000 should handle anything the CM1200 can send to it. If there are issues, try firmware 1.0.4.28 and not the latest firmware that runs netgear armor.

the 2 things I'd avoid?

1. link aggregation. seems like devices have issues with it. And not just netgear. I've used arris/netgear and both link aggregations struggled.

2. the cm1200 has 4 ports. most assume they can use them all. Unless your ISP supports multiple public ip addresses, they're kind of pointless. Most only support 1 public IP address.  So only plug the router into the cm1200 when going through setup.

Current setup: CM2000-> RBKE963B-> Trendnet TEG-S380-> GS716T-> pi-hole
also in AP setup: RAXE500->EAX80
1.4gig download/50mbps upload from Xfinity
