Hi, I upgraded to R8000 a year or so back. Moved to new place, recently, R8000 is unable to cover entire home now. I still have old WNDR3700 router with me, can I use this as repeater with R8000? If so, how do I do this?

For Powerline, you can start with Netgear's own lineup:

For MoCA, Actiontec seems to be the main player:

It won't work well or at all as a repeater. You can wire the two together via Ethernet, Powerline or MoCA.
