Can my router handle a 1 Gig fiber network connection - NightHawk R6700
We are changing internet services and need to know if this router can handle the new speed of 1 Gig
We have used this router for a while and it has worked great, so hoping it can handle the highter speed

Re: Can my router handle a 1 Gig fiber network connection - NightHawk R6700
The R6700 is gigabit capable. the one thing I'd though is factory reset and reinstall the router. Reason why is if you had QoS enabled, traffic monitoring enabled, it disabled CTF (cut through forwarding). its what allows these routers to hit gigabit. Once you enable those services, it disables ctf and puts the burden on the cpu. And it usually can't handle it then. This is true of most of Netgears routers.
So by starting from factory and not enabling those services, it should work fine.
