Hi,
running unter W10, browser does not get access to router
- firefox (Page error)
- IE10 - will show "Entry Page" - after entering name and password, next page ist blank - i am connected (gets an similar message, logging on by another W7-Laptop), but does not see anything
- chrome - sometimes undefined page with some information, but not the normal screen (page setup wrong) - however i can quit the session.
Router already restarted more than once as well the PC - no success.
Netgear Genie does work, however it will not show all the contents like on a web browser, so I need that access.
Who could help me, please (German preferred, Englisch so lala)
TIA, Axel

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
I have to add that I too am unable to get into my router from ANY Win 10 PC (I have 3). I can access the router just fine on Win7 AND my Mac OS which is running the latest El Capitan version. If I try to use Chome or IE, I get the page cannot be displayed or similar. I've called Netgear support and they can't figure it out. I've tried using www.routerlogin.net, 10.x.x.x and 192.x.x.x IPs w/no luck. Why is this so hard to get working? Is it an issue with Win10 which is all up to date? Please help us here! Thanks.

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
Hi All,
Welcome to Community!
What is the firmware version of the router? Have you performed a factory reset?

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
Hi James,
Yes, not only a reset, but a couple of them and I have the latest firmware ending in .94. Again, just Win10 has the issue. Does anyone know of how to get this fixed? My non-win10 PCs are fine, but Win10 is my main PC.

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
I would like to know the following information:
1. Are the devices trying to access the UI connected via wired or wireless?
2. If it is wireless, is it on 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz?
3. If it is on 2.4Ghz, have you tried the 5Ghz?
4. If it is wireless, can you check the wired connection?

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
I'll post the questions here w/the answers:
1. Are the devices trying to access the UI connected via wired or wireless? Both with the same results.
2. If it is wireless, is it on 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz? Either, no diff.
3. If it is on 2.4Ghz, have you tried the 5Ghz? See #2.
4. If it is wireless, can you check the wired connection? Both do the same - wired/wireless. Wireless on a NON Win10 is fine as is a wired non Win10.
HELP! Thanks.

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
Following situation with me:
1. Are the devices trying to access the UI connected via wired or wireless?
- W10-Laptop tested wireless/5GHz and 2.4GHz and as well LAN-conneted - NO access
- W10-workstation only LAN-connected - NO access
- W7-netbook wireless/2.4GHz and LAN-connected - access OK
2. If it is wireless, is it on 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz?
- see point 1
3. If it is on 2.4Ghz, have you tried the 5Ghz?
- netbook does not support 5GHz, to evaluate that alternative
4. If it is wireless, can you check the wired connection?
- always done - see point 1

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
******UPDATE********
Both IE and Chrome now present a login to the router. What suddenly changed??? The same thing happened on my last 7500 router (had to replace that one) and now again access is finally granted. Can a Netgear rep tell me why this may be happening? Thanks. I made NO known changes to my system running Win10.

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
Hi @sirsteve1968,
There was no update for R7500 but I guess your Windows 10 might have some updates which made it work. Good to know that it works now.

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
Tested it this evening again -Windows10-based with EDGE/IE/Morzilla/Chrome - each browser came up with authentification screen - the next page however are different
- EDGE and IE show only screen fragments
- Firefox and Chrome gets page setup error
Internet access is working right.
For all these tests pictures attached.

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
I believe you. But the question is - why is this such a touch and go issue? Works, then not, some works and then not...Where is our Netgear gurus to fix this? Very annoying and should not be causing this problem.

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
I am very sad, not to test this in front of my 1st message - I do run Avira Antivirus Pro at all our PC's - Windows 7 as well and this worked - deactivating Avira at W10-PC was the solution - reactivating available services step by step results in "Browser-Protection" might be the problem.
It worked with EDGE/IE/CHROM/Morzilla at my LAN-based W10-workstation, if "Browser-Protection" is OFF ! I believe, same will happen at my Laptop later on.
The question will remain, why it works at Windows7 with "Browser-Protection" and not on Windows10-Platform.
Activating of extended protocol does not show anything - the only one that appear is, that the last checked URL is "http://routerlogin.net/index.htm" - nothing else ! ! !
Who is the specialist, to solve that ? It is probably not an specific Antivirus-software problem.

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
Sorry to sound clueless, but can you clarify what you mean by 'browser protection'? Where is that option, within your AV or browser settings? Thanks.

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
yes, it is one of the services within Advira, I can activate
Provided services are:
- PC-Security-Realtime-Scan
- Internet Security Firewall
- Browser-Security
- EMail-Security
- Play-Modus
Is there a way to add hardcopies - would make it much easier and more clear, even if the screens are in German.

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
addon: - same result at WLAN-connected W10-based Laptop - access to R7500 only, if "Browser-security" service at ADVIRA is OFF

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
Hi All,
If you have Kaspersky you may try the following steps:
1. Open Kaspersky Internet Security and go to "Settings".
2. On the left pane, click on "Additional". Then, select "Threats and Exclusions".
3. Click "Configure exclusions".
4. Click "Add". Then, browse for your Internet browser's folder location and Select it.
5. Status of the browser should be “Active”.

Re: Can't access R7500 router by any browser
OK, for all "ADVIRA Antivirus PRO" users (Engl. definitions may be not exactly - I use German version, so it is only my translation):
- open Antivirus PRO
- switch to <Browser-Schutz> (in Engl. probably <browser-protection>)
- switch to <Ausnahmen> (in Engl. probably <exceptions>)
- include in <vom Browser-Schutz auszulassende URLs> (in Engl. probably <no browser-protection for following URLs>)
http://192.168.1.1/* (your router IP-Adress)
and/or
and R7500 will work after saving these changes, w/o deactivation browser-protection
