Can’t connect to online game through Ethernet cable

We needed a router with a stronger signal strength. Bought the AC1750 model. Hooked the router up, Wi-Fi works fine. Used a Ethernet cable to hook our PC up. Internet works through the cable. But I can’t connect to any online game. Our previous NetGear router has no issue with this, but we’re needing better Wi-Fi signal strength than what that one has.

1. what modem/gateway do you have the router connected to? 

2. what router do you have? AC1750 is the speed, not the model

3. what firmware is on the router? 

4. what gaming system are you connecting to it? Or are you gaming on your pc?

5. If internet is working, what error are you getting when you try to game? 

6. Can you game if you connect wirelesss?

Connect with what? A PC? Some other device?

What happens when you try?

I'm afraid that "can’t connect" doesn't tell us much. These things usually have error messages or some sort of response.

Do these games require any special settings on the router?
