Can't install firmware 1.0.9.42 on R700P

I performed a factory reset on my router using both the software method and the paperclip method. Then manually installed the firmware V1.0.9.42_10.2.44. But the firmware # won't change from V1.3.1.64_10.1.36.

I've been haivng issues with the 5g wireless channel dropping at some recomendations here on the forums suggested going back to 1.0.9.42.

"R7000".  So, _not_ for an "R7000P".

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in _your_ model number, and
look for Downloads.  (For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".)  Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release Notes" file for
instructions.  (In the User Manual, look for "firmware", and,
especially, for a topic like "Manually Upload Firmware to the Router".)

Failing a helpful User Manual:

   If it's any consolation:

On what?  "R7000" and "R7000P" are spelled differently for a reason.

What was the whole name of the relevant file?  Did "R7000P" appear in
it anyplace?
