Can't recover admin Password

I am trying to recover my admin password for my router. When I do the recovery tool it asks me a couple of questions that I have never set up. I put the default password on the Netgear Genie and it keeps kicking me out as well. How can I go in and either change the password or recover the password using the tool.

There is a bug in Netgear's implementation of password recovery on some devices in. You can get locked into a closed loop.


If password recovery is enabled, but you have not set the answers to the questions, it keeps sending you back to the beginning of the process because you can't answer the questions.


If the standard factory password (password) does not work, and you have forgotten your own password, then you will have to factory reset the thing to get back to that. Then either disable password recovery (check the manual for your device) or provide some answers to those questions.
