Can't stop responding to outside pings

R6900 - Firmware Version V1.0.1.46_10.0.29

 

My configuration is set to deny responses to outside pings (checkbox unchecked) but when I run Gibson Research Shields Up or any outside web ping, they show that my router is responding to pings. I have reset the router to factory settings and reloaded, rebooted the ISP DSL modem and Nighthawk router but nothing stops the responses to pings.

 

Help! I'm exposed.

A new firmware update is available. Please update the firmware to 1.0.1.48.

   _Something_ may be.  Who decided that it's the R6900?

   What is your "the ISP DSL modem"?  Is _it_ responding?  Did you try
disconnecting the R6900?

It’s my ISP that is responding with their DSL modem. Not Netgear. Thanks.
