Can the mesh wifi 6 system work with the R6700v3 router?
I have been using a NighHawk R6700v3 router for the last appx year. I just bought a NightHawk Mesh WiFi 6 System, containing 1 router and 2 "satellite" boxes. I'm curious if i can just use the mesh router and 2 satellites as 3 total sattelites connected to my original R6700v3 router instead of just using the Mesh router and 2 satellites?
I am not a very tech savvy individual, I appreciate any input.
Thanks!

Re: Can the mesh wifi 6 system work with the R6700v3 router?
No you can't.
The R6700 isn't a mesh router and devices won't roam to it like they will with the mesh router/satellites.
What you can do is go R6700---->mesh router in ap (access point) mode----->satellites.
Just set the r6700 with a different ssid and have it on a different wireless channels (to prevent interference).
Then you'd have a backup wireless solution in case the mesh goes down or even if you want to put all your IoT devices on the r6700.
