Cannot get CM600 and AC1200 Dual Band to work together
So I moved into a new place and the provider is Comcast Xfinity. I had a spare Netgear CM600 cable modem, and bought an AC1200 model R6120 Dual Band Router. The set up of the modem went fine and it is connected to my ISP just fine. When I plug directly into the ethernet port with a computer on the modem, it works fine. I can get on the internet. But when I plug the AC1200 to the modem to provide internet to the router, the LAN LED on the modem has a steady (not rapid) flashing amber light and the Internet LED on the router is a steady amber color. According to the manual for the CM600 the LAN LED being amber means the device on that LAN port is operating at 10/100 Mbps, or when blinking the connection is processing traffic. And the AC1200 manual makes no mention of an amber light for the Internet LED.
The issue is I cannot get any internet via the router when connected to the modem. Neither when connected wirelessly or by ethernet. Is there anything I should know to remedy this problem?

For what speed are you paying?

Probably not a wise choice, if your ISP speed is over 100Mb/s.

That would be consistent with an R6120 Ethernet connection.

Lacking hardware in hand, I can't help with incomplete documentation.

Does that mean that you can get a wireless device connected to the
R6120? Does it get a healthy IP address?

What happens when you try? "cannot" is not a useful problem
description. It does not say what you did. It does not say what
happened when you did it. As usual, showing actual actions (commands)
with their actual results (error messages, LED indicators, ...) can be
more helpful than vague descriptions or interpretations.

For a start, visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model
number, and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look
for the LED descriptions and "Troubleshoot". Does the R6120 management
web site ("routerlogin.net", or whatever) have anything interesting to
